Ask A Mom

With Mother's  Day nearly upon us what better time to think about the best advise givers of all time,  Moms!  From the time we were small children asking, "Mom where's my shoe?" to grade school asking, "Mom, how do you tell if a boy (or girl) likes you?" to adult hood asking, "Should I take this job?" "How do you get ketchup stain out of a white shirt?" "Can I really cook a turkey in 5 hours?"
When you asked, Mom was there to answer the questions.

As a Mom of two daughters, a sister, an aunt and a friend I have given my share of advice, and as a daughter I have certainly asked for my share from my mom. Through the birth of two daughters, the
battle of cancer with my husband, two career changes, two major surgeries, and the ups and downs of every day life she was there to answer my questions and to give me her advice and support. She was always just a phone call away. I probably did not say thank you enough.

My mother, pictured at left with one of my daughters, passed away in December so when I need advice now I ask myself what would my Mom say and sometimes the answer pops into my head and sometimes it does not. My mother once said, "You never really have to grow up until your mother is no longer around, and then you don't have a choice." I have found that to be true. At least for me. Sometimes I have to figure it out myself. Sometimes I need to get help elsewhere.

I have recently been studying to become a Life Coach and as part of the program I have a Life Coach of my own. When my mother became ill and passed away it was a great comfort to me to have someone to talk to about it and to help me with the grieving process. As a result, I was able to help my family when they needed me. I just discovered there are websites dedicated to advice from Moms. CafeMom.com is advice to moms from moms and Momadvice.com is information about many things from free stuff to gluten free information, and Mom'sAdvice.net is full of information from career changes to Disney Vacations.

If you would like some information about Life Coaching check out Yourpersonalhelpdesk.com. You can get some information or contact a Life Coach.

Here's some advice from a Mom.  Sunday is Mother's Day so be sure to thank your mom. Then thank her on Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday...well you get the picture.
